Samsung Electronics has launched the Perplexity AI assistant app for its Smart TVs, introducing a new wave of intelligent interaction in home entertainment. The rollout, which began in early October 2025, allows users to access conversational AI directly from their TV screens.
The new app integrates Perplexity’s advanced natural language technology, enabling users to ask detailed questions, browse topics, and receive real-time responses — all hands-free. Samsung says the feature aims to enhance how people consume information, entertainment, and services in their living rooms.
According to the company, the app will initially be available on its latest Neo QLED and OLED Smart TV models before expanding to earlier editions through software updates. Samsung describes the integration as part of its long-term vision to make AI a seamless part of every connected device.
Perplexity AI, a fast-growing conversational search company, has been making waves for its ability to deliver accurate, contextual, and source-backed answers. Its collaboration with Samsung marks one of the first times a large consumer electronics brand has embedded the assistant directly into a visual entertainment platform.
Industry experts view this as a strategic move to position Samsung ahead of competitors like LG and Sony, whose smart assistants remain largely voice-command driven. The integration of conversational AI elevates user interaction beyond commands, turning the TV into an interactive learning and entertainment tool.
Samsung says the Perplexity AI experience will also connect with other Samsung ecosystem devices, including Galaxy smartphones and SmartThings, offering a unified, AI-powered home experience. This could significantly enhance how users multitask and discover content in real time.
While Samsung has not disclosed full regional rollout dates, it confirmed that early access began in the United States and South Korea, with global expansion expected through 2026. Analysts believe the launch signals the next phase of smart TV evolution — one where AI becomes a central layer of the viewing experience.
