Expedia Group today announced a major expansion of its B2B platform, rolling out an AI-powered trip planner and a suite of new APIs to help partners scale faster and smarter.

At its EXPLORE event, the company revealed that its new APIs cover cars, activities, insurance, and air — enabling partners to bundle full travel packages.

A highlight is Expedia Trip Matching, a first-of-its-kind feature that turns Instagram reels into personalized travel itineraries via AI. Users can share a travel reel and get destination ideas, booking links, and suggestions in return.

On the operations side, the new Reservation Management API is built to automate hotel workflows, streamline bookings, payments, data recovery, and more. It’s projected to reduce 8 million manual work hours and save $120 million annually for hotel partners.

Expedia is also expanding its integrations with AI platforms like OpenAI Operator and Microsoft Copilot, enabling its services to live where new travel conversations happen.

For partners — airlines, hotels, travel agencies, banks — these tools offer deeper access to inventory, smarter packaging, and new revenue paths. In 2024, Expedia’s B2B arm already handled over 135 million room nights globally.

As travelers increasingly discover trips via social content and AI, Expedia’s move signals a shift: the inspiration-to-booking chain is closing. The real test will be how quickly partners adopt and how seamless the experience becomes for end users.
