Samsung has unveiled One UI 8 Watch, the latest software update for its Galaxy Watch lineup, designed to help users build sustainable, healthier habits through smarter tracking and personalized insights.

The update, which began rolling out globally this month, brings a suite of wellness-focused tools powered by artificial intelligence and advanced biometric sensors. One of the most notable additions is “Energy Score,” a new metric that calculates users’ daily readiness based on sleep quality, activity levels, and heart rate variability.

Another major feature is the enhanced Heart Rate Zone analysis, which provides real-time coaching during workouts. It allows users to adjust their intensity instantly, improving efficiency and reducing fatigue. The new AI sleep coach also delivers tailored feedback on sleep consistency, offering actionable advice to improve rest and recovery.

One UI 8 Watch introduces a refreshed interface that places health metrics at the forefront. Widgets for step count, calories, and stress levels have been redesigned for easier access, while the Samsung Health app now offers deeper insights into body composition and stress management.

A standout addition is the personalized “Wellness Reminders” system, which encourages users to move, hydrate, or take mindfulness breaks throughout the day. This feature uses behavioral data to nudge users toward healthier patterns without overwhelming notifications.

Samsung says the update underscores its long-term commitment to digital wellness and preventive health. “Our goal is to make everyday health management intuitive, intelligent, and personalized,” the company stated during its latest Galaxy Unpacked event.

The update is compatible with Galaxy Watch 7 and other select models, with a phased rollout continuing through the fourth quarter of 2025. Samsung has not disclosed how soon all regions will receive it but confirmed that more advanced AI-driven health tools will follow in future updates.

Industry analysts view One UI 8 as a strategic move to position Samsung Watches as not just fitness trackers but full-scale wellness companions, competing directly with Apple’s watchOS 11 and Fitbit’s evolving ecosystem.
