Nigerian creative media organisation Freeborn Media Group has expanded its work across the United Kingdom through a series of media, cultural and community engagements during its 2026 UK Tour.
The Guardian Nigeria reports that the organisation supported media, content and visual storytelling for the stage production Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman at London’s Shaw Theatre and served as a media partner for Africa Fashion Week London.
The tour also included practical production and storytelling training in Northampton and Bradford, participation in the Onidiri Festival 2.0 in Barking, and a partnership with AfroFest Northampton. The organisation was also featured on BBC Radio Northampton in connection with AfroFest.
Freeborn’s founder, Victor Afolabi, described the tour as a way to build relationships, share knowledge and explore how African creative expertise can create value in different markets. The group later extended its journey to Nairobi in October.
Creative exports require relationships
International visibility can help African creative firms find collaborators and audiences, but lasting growth depends on converting exposure into repeat commissions, distribution, training contracts and partnerships. Practical skills exchange and community engagement can be part of that commercial infrastructure.
Founded in 2019, Freeborn has expanded from production services into studios, an agency, an academy and school-focused programmes, according to the report.
