Morocco Opens 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat

The 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations begins in Rabat, Morocco, on October 12, bringing eight national teams together for a 10-day tournament that also serves as Africa’s qualifying competition for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, hosts Morocco, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia will compete across 16 matches. Games will be staged at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall and Yassine Sports Hall in Rabat.

Morocco enters as defending champion and will open its campaign against Algeria. Libya and Zambia are scheduled to play the tournament’s opening match.

The top three finishers will qualify for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup, giving the competition importance beyond the continental title. CAF says all 16 matches will be broadcast through its official CAF TV channel.
