Meta has introduced new AI capabilities for Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India, including Hindi voice support, UPI Lite payments via QR, and festive photo restyling.
One highlight is Hindi language integration: users can now talk to Meta AI hands-free in Hindi to take photos, send texts, control media, or ask questions.
Another eye-catching feature is UPI Lite payments. Users will soon be able to make small transactions (below ~₹1,000) by scanning a QR code and saying “Hey Meta, scan and pay.” The payment links with their WhatsApp-connected bank account.
To add flair, Meta is also introducing Diwali-themed restyling of photos taken via the glasses. Users simply say, “Hey Meta, Restyle This,” and the AI applies festival visuals like lights and rangoli.
These updates build on the existing Ray-Ban Meta features—like voice calls, messaging, and integration with WhatsApp/Messenger—and bring deeper localization and utility to Indian users.
Analysts say the localized features may significantly boost adoption in India, by making smart glasses more relevant to daily life and culture. If successful, Meta may roll out similar upgrades in more markets.
