Lenovo Unveils $560 V1 AI Glasses with Ultra-Light 38g Design

Lenovo has unveiled the V1 AI Glasses, a pair of smart glasses priced at roughly $560 and weighing only 38 grams, aiming to push wearable tech into a new era.

The V1 model uses a resin diffractive waveguide and a micro-LED display, with brightness up to 2,000 nits, to deliver clear visuals despite its slim profile.

Interestingly, Lenovo decided not to include a camera, likely as a trade-off to reduce weight and simplify privacy concerns. The glasses support features like live translation, AI-based navigation, and a teleprompter mode, and are controlled via touch on the temples.

Battery capacity is 167 mAh, which Lenovo claims gives 8–10 hours in translation mode; full charge reportedly takes 40 minutes. The V1 AI Glasses are currently available for pre-order in China (price ~ CNY 3,999) and will officially launch November 9. While this model may not yet be global, it sets a benchmark in the race to make ultra-light, AI smart glasses more mainstream, and offers a glimpse at how far engineering trade-offs still go—between weight, battery life, and features.
